Hi, I haven't ever had an issue with my Orbi Wifi Mesh system until I noticed my Orbi Satellite had been disabled. By this I mean, the satellite had power but was not connected to my router and w...

The "Ring LED" at the top of the unit only shows a light during the initial startup:

f you power the satellite off, wait 30 seconds, then power it on and no Ring Light appears, this is not good.
Netgear warranties the Orbi product for one year. If this unit is less than one year old, then it can be replaced under warranty.
If the unit is more than one year old, it is out of warranty and there are some "last resort" things that an be tried.
There is an alternate method for "Factory Reset" that has worked for some:
- Press paperclip in reset hole for 30 seconds
- Keep pressing paperclip while removing power
- Keep pressing paperclip for another 30 seconds while apply power
If this does not cause the power LED to flash amber, there is one "Hail Mary" that has worked for me.
Download the firmware file for the satellite from the Netgear support site.
Unpack (unzip) the file to extract the firmware image.
Follow the steps to use the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) to force the firmware onto the satellite:

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply. I am outside of the warranty replacement period, so this is my only shot before going out and buying another one. :( As far as I am aware, my system is currently updated V2.5.1.16 on both the Router and the Satellite. Should I still go ahead with your recommendation? I believe I would simply just be flashing the same firmware onto itself again.
Thanks,
Josh

I had a similar experience right after a new install. We had a power glitch and 1 of the child nodes would not connect to the master. I reset the node in question, but it did not help. Factory resetting the entire system and reconfiguring from scratch fixed it for me.
So I suggest factory resetting both Orbi devices. Then run the setup from the beginning, following the exact instruction that come with the units. You can backup your settings before factory reset, which helps save some time with configuration.
