Orbi RBK50 Firmware upgrade problem
got a handmedown rbk50 , firmware was 1.3.0.26 Both router and Sattelite. Firmware upgrade sattelite is ok to 2.5.1.8 but router won't do anything . when i add the .img en press uplode the weel ke...
(It just ruins the whole day when a problem does not get solved. Damn.)
My "absolute last resort" is to tftp the image. Netgear's routers are built with tftp (the most primitive file transfer program ever created). Netgear publishes instructions for Windows here: https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
I have uploaded firmware to an Orbi using tftp. (It was either that or box it up and send it back to Amazon, and I had only one day left on vacation to get it working before I left the state to come home.) Surprised hell out of me when it worked.
My Google search seems to indicate that Mac's come with tftp, but I know almost nothing about Apple products.

and did a Manual Update to 2.2.1.212 first?
How did that manual update fail?
i've tried 2.0.0.74 / 2.2.1.212 and 2.5.1.8 . in chrome you can see the upload reaching 100 % then it says wait for Orbilogin.net to respond .
the you get a connection error . when i log back in , nothing changed on firmware level .
as i said , satelitte is ok with most recent firmware . firmware upload is possible wireless ?
