Orbi RBK53s vs. Nighthawk x6s... Ethernet half the speed?
Soooo ok... I have Gig internet at home and had the Nighthark x6s setup. Had issues with the x6s... it loses its config anytime it loses power. Got PRETTY annoying, I upgraded - so I thought - to...

Ok, thanks for letting us now. Let us know what you find out with support.

I'm going to engage with support to see what they might have for assistance on this one.

So... no update at all.
A community manager reached out with an offer to work with a support engineer... then nothing but radio silence.
I like the hardware - as it has the ethernet ports I was hoping for - but I can't accept losing 50% of my gig internet AND ethernet when hardwired.
SUPER disappointed - likely going to just return and pick up the google version that was just released if I can't get a fix in the next couple days.

Try to make contact with them again if you can. I have also tried as well. Crickets.
Seems that some have this issue and some don't. v30 and beyond seem to have this problem for my RBR. Nothing over 400Mbps. I'll try gonig back to some old FW and see if this changes anything.
I recommend finding something that does 900Mbps on the WAN to LAN if you can't get any progress from NG.

I've reached out a few times now... action is no longer on my end to try keep a customer.
Early reviews are in that the Google Home Wifi is able to handle gig quite well - what makes me frustrated is the pods don't have any ethernet ports and the base only has 1 in the google version vs. the Orbi. That said - I can pick up a small switch - not having the full use of my gig internet via physical connections is an absolute deal breaker. Barring any last minute aknowledgement of a "HEY! We know this is an issue and we are working on it... QUICKLY!" I will be picking up the other product... today likely - and returning the Orbi again.
I'm tired of being frustrated by the Netgear products... (worked with Nighthawks that were great until they were not... then 2 different versions of Orbi's both with the same issues of throttling.)
A $400 product shouldn't have this issue for as long as it has... there are posts from MONTHS ago here and on Reddit where people just seem to give up and go elsewhere.
What I assume is happening is that there are enough users who just don't know any better and are all "oh - it's nice and fast!" And while it is - truly the wifi has been great in my home - it just isn't acceptable that this is the situation.

Understand completely. I'm kind of annoyed that there hasn't been any more traction on this issue. I sent NG testing and debug log info. Been crickets since.
Go with something that works for you.
Good Luck.
