Orbi RBR20 - Keeps dropping ethernet link
Orbi RBR20 Router keeps dropping ethernet link to Cable modem every few hours. Once ethernet cable is un-plugged and plugged back in, the link recovers. Then again after a few hours link drops again....

Cable modem is Netgear CG3000Dv2 - N450. It has 4 ethernet ports. One of them connected to Orbi RBR20, other 2 ports connected to couple of other devices. On the other devices, there is no link drop issue. I switched connected to Orbi to other ports as well, still does not work.
I dont use the wifi from Netgear Cable modem router because it is in master closet in one corner of the house. Orbi RBR20 is places in a more central place for all wifi access, with a satellite Orbi extending the range. I didn't set Orbi RBR20 in bridge mode, just whatever the factory default setting is.

Just disabling WIFI in your cable router will not disable its DHCP router functions. So you are probable running a double NAT. Try putting the Orbi in AP mode or disable DHCP in the cable router.
How to disable DHCP mode in router:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router’s network.
- Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login screen displays. - Enter the router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays. - Select ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup.
- Clear the Use Router as DHCP Server check box.
- Click the Apply button.
- (Optional) If this service is disabled and no other DHCP server is on your network, set your computer IP addresses manually so that they can access the router.
