Start at the basics.
1. What modem are you using?
2. What firmware is on your orbi?
3. You put you have the orbi and the R7000. Are you using them at the same time? If so is one of them running in AP mode (access point).
4. What firmware is on the R7000?

Hi - I'm looking for someone who can get on a call and work through things with me.
Hve been down this road trying to sort by text with no joy.
I have fibre coming into an old modem, it then was goin to the nighthawk. worked perfectly but didnt have the range.
Have tried to run orbi and nighthawk together and seperatley with no joy.

understand that, I'm happy to pay someone to help. The time for me to try and do it all step by step with text is just not viable.
Is there anyone who has actually worked this out and has these running with home automation products etc? Seem to be a complete disaster of a product with the complexity they have and lack of support?
