Orbi RBR20 dropping internet

I have been experiencing internet drops on my RBR20 the last couple of months. We've had this system for +/-2 yrs, and have randomly started experiencing issues the last couple months, with no change in network setup. I have multiple devices connected to WiFi and my PC connected via ethernet. Internet drops on all devices (including ethernet connected PC) at the same time, so it's not solely a WiFi issue. I have talked to my ISP (Spectrum) a couple of times and they have not seen any issues or connection drops in the Modem. I have tried bypassing the router and doing a hard connection to the PC from the modem, and I did not have any drops during those few hours.

I have rebooted the modem & router many times, no improvement

I have done a factory reset of the router, no improvement

I have checked that firmware is up-to-date, no improvement. After checking firmware, a new firmware was released and updated, no improvement (current firmware is V2.7.3.22)

I have tried changing the channels to manual (1, 6, and 11 for 2.4Ghz, and something else for 5Ghz), no improvement (although this would only affect WiFi, not the ethernet)

I have tried switching out ethernet cables, no improvement

I'm at a loss and am getting extremely frustrated. In fact, while writing this post, internet dropped again. The modem shows a solid internet connection, but here I am without connection.

EDIT: may be worth noting that the LED ring on top does not turn pink when internet drops, which I find odd.

  • what actual modem is it connected to?

You might try the newer firmware. (Not actually on the latest)

Make sure to update the satellites first.

And I'm always a fan of a factory reset after upgrading firmware and if you still have issues.
