ORBI RBR20 please help
hi recently upgraded my internet from 120 mbps to 1gb, they come and upgraded my modem and now im having issues with the orbi kicking my modem offline and no devices working hitron CODA-4589 is ...
- Sep 09, 2019I am going to accept the solution that it was the ISP modem all along..even after swapping out the hitron coda 4589 did just not want to keep my orbi online.
With my new Arris modem I have been staying online !
Just having slight issues with orbi speeds I will open a new thread and thanks for everyone who assisted and listened to me in this topic

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)?

I saw in one of the screenshts from the Hitron router that it has a DMZ setting, have you tried that?
Please set up the IP address of the Orbi (192.168.0.92 or another address if it has changed) as the DMZ destination in the Hitron router.
Reserve a fixed IP address for Orbi in the Hitron Router so that it does not keep changing.

what you have got here is "Daisy chain" setup in the Orbi. It will automatically choose this setting as your Sat-2 is wirelessly-far from Router. May be there many obstructions here.
It will display poor if the Backhaul rate is poor.
you could try changing the positions of Sat 1 to see if it be bit more closer to sat2.
if you draw a top down view of your house floor plan, someone can probably comment more.
Is your disconnection problem solved by just removing CODA off your home?
- CodybutsSep 06, 2019AspirantI'm actually quite puzzled..
I reboot everything , did one satellite at a time because I noticed sat 2 would try to take from the router instead of sat 1, and all of a sudden everything is GOOD.
My setup now goes as followed .
1050 sq ft bungalow ( downstairs + main level ) I think my house is like 50 ft or something long ?
Router and modem basement front of house closest to wall
Sat 1 main level closest to back wall of house
From back of house to garage door 20 ft ish+15 ft to sat 2
Sat 2 is in my garage farthest away possible from sat 1 .
Everything seems to be working a ok.
My guess is it was the hitron coda 4589 modem causing the connection issues .
The only weird thing is if I goto the back of my house to the middle while on main floor I get 40 Mbps unless i turn wifi on and off for it to rrconnt to the closest orbi or something.
Now getting speeds around 150 in garage ..is this normal? I get 600 ish beside router, I have 1gb I understand wifi is less but is the Singal supposed to carry that 600 or lose a bit ? It seems sat 1 gives almost full whereas sat 2 is 150 or so.
For now everything is ok, I just want to say a big thank you to the 3 guys on this post assisting with everything they can .
