orbi rbr20 satellite connection not private

When browsing the web from my phone,  the browser shows a security error  "This Connection Is Not Private"  when the phone is connected to the satellite WiFi; however, when the phone is connected to the router WiFi there is no issue.

The issue just started happening in the past three months.

The issue comes a goes.

Rebooting does not always make the issue go away.

The mesh network has been working fine for about 2 years.
The issue has only been observed on the  Satellite WiFi.

The Satellites are connected to the router  via a wired backbone through a NETGEAR GS305v3 switch.

Please clarify which website is declared to be unsafe.  All of the Orbi units default to http for web access to the device itself.  http is (by definition these days) "unsafe" because it is not encrypted.  After the web browser is told, "shut up and go where I told you to", it will remember and no longer complain.

If the complaint is about web sites everywhere, that is a different issue.

    Hello joe_b1,

I understand that you are only seeing "This Connection is Not Private" when you are accessing the WIFI through your iPhone. This can occur when your iPhone is using a private Wi-Fi Address.

Turning this function off may solve your "Connection is Not Private" issue when connected to the Orbi Satellites.

Below I have included steps on how to turn off the private Wi-Fi address on the iPhone.

    Steps to Follow:

    1. First, navigate to Settings> WIFI> (tap the "i" icon next to the connected router).

    2. Then, Turn off " Private Wi-Fi Address.

Please let me know if this helps!

    Best,

    Kevin
