Orbi RBR20 slow wifi - Router only
Have got a strange issue with by RBK20 kit. Satellite connected via wired backhaul. Wifi over satellite maxes out my broadband (600 down, 35 up) and it's in the loft (1 wall to go through). Sat dire...
Yup switch between them, though kinda doesn't explain why the RBS is faster on WiFi than the RBR. I've tried disconnecting the RBS and doesn't seem to have made a difference
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure when you speed testing with a wifi device, that you disable it's wifi ratio for 5 seconds, go near the RBR or RBS, then turn ON the wifi radio on the device and it should connect to the nearest unit. Then speed test.
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
What is all connected at the RBR vs RBS?

I'm not sure any of these questions are relevant. Why would the wifi speed on the router unit be significantly slower than when connected to the satellite, which is connected to the router unit. Surely they should either both be the same or the satellite slower?
Are you sure the device is connectect at the RBR and not the RBS?

Positive. The Orbi app is stating what the devices are connected to and it says the router.
Well aware that many things affect wifi speed as I work in IT, however for a mesh system I'd expect the speed to be fairly even and it doesn't explain why the router, aka the primary node, is significantly (10 times) slower than the satellite when I'm sat next to it considering the satellite traffic will route to over the wired backhaul to it!
Appreciate you're trying to help but I'd say they're would be relevant if the speed was consistently poor across the house and both nodes, not just one.
