- REPLY: My VOIP phone and FAX still work, but sometimes my Win 10 PC loses internet when I lose the WiFi internet connection. Cycling on and off the power with the power button (I leave it off for about 30 seconds), or use the router's soft reboot, then everything works fine for a several hours, then it stops again. The lights on my Surfboard Modem always show that I am receiving and sending data.and rebooting the modem has no effect. The problem is with the RBR40.

There have been a chorus of complaints since Daylight Saving Time that Orbi routers begin failing to resolve Domain Names.
When this happens, computers connect to the Orbi, but every attempt to connect to some internet resouce by its Domain Name (such as google.com) fail to resolve into an IP address. There must be at least a dozen open posts on the forum right now about this issue.
The root problem is that something in the Orbi firmware has gone whack-o because of Daylight Saving Time and a side-effect is that DNS resolution is failing.

I am currently trying a solution suggested by a Netgear engineer:
Navigate to the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings, Traffic Meter, and uncheck the box "Enable Traffic Meter" and then click on "Apply". It has been a number of hours since my Orbi exhibited the problem. When I get to more than 24 hours, I will declare it "fixed."
This week has been absolute hell for my domestic tranquility. "The ***** internet is down AGAIN. Fix the damn thing!!!!"
My system has been doing the same thing fow a little over a week now. I just want this fixed.
