I tried putting the Orbi in AP mode and then had to do a reset to recover from that so all the settings other than the UPnP and IP reservations are standard.
As you learned, when the ISP modem is in "bridge mode" and the Orbi is in Access Point (AP) mode, there is no router at all.... and so there is nothing controlling the network. One or the other must be a router.

I've setup both pre-defined services as well as custom services including 1, some, or all of the ports I need but no joy. tried UDP, TCP, and both without change. Rebooted router and the JACE multiple times in different sequences. Firmware is most up-to-date per the Orbi
The Orbi router, Advanced Tab, Advanced Setup, Port Forwarding has an entry like the attached. (In my case, I forwarded Port 80 to 192.168.1.30 (one of my Pi-hole servers). (see attached image)
- Port checkers, such as https://portchecker.co/ show Port 80 is open.
- A web browser to my public IP address brings up the web page of the Pi-hole server.
Just one tiny clarification: Port forwarding is from the internet to the device. If JACE needs to communicate with "the Cloud" or something, it is up to JACE to open that connection.
