Orbi RBR40
I have a couple of devices that won't connect to my Orbi and I suspect the reason is they specifically need 2.4G. How do I get these items to connect?

A lot of times, its not that they need "only" 2.4ghz to work but they need the phone/tablet you're using to set it up with to be on 2.4ghz.
A couple ways that can be accomplished.
1. turn down the 5ghz broadcast power (and shut off the satellites). You can also disable the 5ghz broadcast. It doesn't disable the radio but just the ssid. Sometimes that can help devices connect to the 2.4ghz. Then move a ways away from the router and disconnect/reconnect to your wifi. Sometimes this will get you connected and you can go through setup on your devices.
2. I've done it with a hotspot. Shut off your primary router and turn on your phone 2.4ghz hotspot. Name it the same as your router and the same password. Get your devices connected and running. Then shut off the hotspot and turn the router back on. Devices should auto-connect.

Hello,
Thanks for the solutions, but they seem to be beyond my understanding. The items I'm trying to connect are a ceiling fan and a garage door opener. I'm not sure how to increase the distance with those items. I think my best option is to hire somebody in this field to get what I need connected. Thanks again and I will definitely show the tech this info.
