ORBI RBR50, FIOS & XBOX not working in basement
Does anyone know why my son's XBOX One experiences major difficulty with downloading and connecting in our basement? We have the ORBI RBR50 router and Verizon Fios. We ended up moving all of his gami...

To answer your questions, Furrye38,:
- I don't know what FW is loaded nor how to check that.
- I think the manufacturer & ISP modem is an ARRIS IPC1100P2 (Verizon supplied)?
- Our home is approximately 3200 square feet?
- Distance between the router and satellite is a mystery to me... We have Verizon Fios. Where would the satellite be located?
- As for the channel, we switch over to an unused HDMI channel. I.e., we access Fios Channels on HDMI1, Roku on HDMI2, and I guess xBox on HDMI3? The xBOX has literally been set up on our third floor for at least three months so I don't recall...
- There are a least 10 - 12 neighbors nearby with WiFi access.
- I have no idea how to disable the MIMO, Daisy Chain, etc. nor do I know what those are... How and where would I access them?
Much thanks for your help. I hope to have this resolved by next week... :-)
Also, we did have a plug-in netgear extender but it didn't help... And I don't think he's trying to connect via wifi but I'm not sure. How would I help him check that? What would he connect with if not wifi?

FW version can be found if you log in to the Orib routers web page. Should be a status information...
The model device you report is a TV set top video box. There should be a modem or other device maybe where you get your internet from? Also do you know if there is a network router in the same modem or box? The IPC device isn't a modem or router.
The distance mentioned is how far the satellite should be placed from the Orbi router.
Channels mentioned are wifi channels being using by the Orbi router.
You can find the advanced featured under Advanced Tab/Advanced/Wireless settings on the Orbi routers web page.
You may need to seek addition in person help from someone who can help you get this set up well...

I thinks the modem is a DYNEX? It's on a different floor. Model 15A? No
clue about the router except to say that we have three LOREX
antenna-looking things connected to what appears to be a LOREX DVR on the
same floor as the DYNEX modem. I thought the ORBI was the router? We have
three of the RBR50 ORBI routers--one on each floor.
As far as I know there is no satellite near us. I've not seen any on the
outside of our home or anywhere near our neighborhood. When you say
"satellite" I envision an actual satellite mounted on a rooftop, like
Direct TV. Nothing like that anywhere within eyesight. Unless by satellite
you mean additional ORBI devices. If that's the case it looks like we've
got a 5 GHz (main), a 2.4GHz, and a 5 GHz (both satellites).- FURRYe38Oct 02, 2018Guru - Experienced User
Dynex is pulling up TVs in a search...
I think you should get a in person on site to help you out on this one...

Thanks. Any chance you know where I could find someone who specializes in Netgear ORBI? My husband usually handles all of this, but he's been insanely busy at work. What job title would I be looking under? Good greif, I've turned into my mother. So clueless! LOL!
