My Orbi RBR50 router stopped working suddenly and can’t get my home WIFI working anymore. Have wasted about 2hrs+ now trying to troubleshoot and reset up everything as a new system repeatedly resettin...

I got a brand new Orbi RBR50 from netgear.com directly. During setup, I chose update firmware thinking that will make more router more secure. But it ended up in exactly the same state as you after I waited 45 minutes hoping the firmware update will complete. I spent the whole day troubleshooting and talking with 2 different netgear support rep. In my case, even TFTP failed for my router. They recommend I return the unit and get a refund.

Sorry to hear. I never got mine to work after hours of troubleshooting. My unit was past its warranty time, and ultimately I had to purchase a new one too. Very disappointing considering how expensive the units are compared to other brands.

Did you try to recover the RBR by chance using this process?

Try both TFTP program that NG provides and the one built into Windows? I've seen different experiences with those two programs.
Next time. I recommend not letting the RBR auto update FW. Manually download the FW files and apply them manually, RBS first then RBR lastly.

How is this firmware update process supposed to work when the steps call for the reset process to work (i.e. solid then flash amber) which exactly what this whole thread is about reporting the fact it doesn't happen?
Reset doesn't go amber for us and if we reset during power on we get flashing red.
How can we update the firmware if the reset is not working?

Are you pressing the back reset button for 15 seconds then releasing?
Does the TFTP process not work for you?
If the reset or the steps to recover the RBR are not working then the unit is probably bad to begin with. Contact NG support.
