Netgear recommends no more than six satellites on the original Orbi ac WiFi system:

WiFi "extenders" are useful for situations where a device that does not more around cannot get a solid WiFi signal (Tv's, garage door openers, smart plugs, irrigation controllers, speakers, etc. etc.) True satellites coordinate keeping a device on-line while it is in motion.

I have seen at least one user report having six satellites on one RBR50 router. Satellites compatible with the RBR50 include:
RBS50
RBS40
RBW30
RBS20
RBS40V
RBS50Y
No other models will sync with the original Orbi (RBR50) (not 'Pro', not 'AX', not "10 series", not Pro Mini, etc.)
Six satellites is a LOT. There are users with 4,000 sq. ft. homes reporting needing only 1 or 2 satellites. It all depends on the specific configuration and structure of the building.
