Orbi RBR50..password is displayed with QR code
.Is this a commin issue? I just noticed this recently. The wifi password is displayed in clear text when the shared QR code is scanned.
Isn't the intent of sharing the QR code to keep the password private???
Does anyone have a fix for this?
thanks....

Sharing a WiFi password with a QR code is intended for convenience, not privacy. Once a person has connected to your WiFi, there are tons of ways to retrieve the WiFi password: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/view-saved-wi-fi-passwords
The goal is to remove the frustration of s-p-e-a-k-i-n-g the password (slowly and clearly) so the person understands it, their fat fingers (and autocorrect) mangling it, and them looking up to say, "It didn't work." (I shudder to think how many times I have said, "Capital Chicken" only to have someone enter CHICKEN and not connect.)
This is similar to when you want someone's cell phone number. Instead of asking for it, people say, "send me a text to xxx-xxx-xxxx. Great, I got it." Why should both of you go through the aggrevation of creating a text when one text message and you have each numbers and proof that they are correct.
So, no. There is no 'fix'.
