ORBI RBR50 Port Forwarding issues
Have set Port Forwarding on Port 90 to view my CCTV Box which is working. However, the Router appears to close this Port intermittently for no reason. I have ran Port Open Scanner Test and the Port ...

Thanks for your reply.
I am not sure how to verify port 90 is accepting connections, do I need to Ping this? If so how?
The Port has shown an open connection when the system was working, but for some reason it appears the Port has been closed by itself?? It is or was an intermittent problem but now it seems to be always closed. ( one week and counting)
The CCTV Box was never a problem with my Old Router (Virgin Super Hub 3), however, to get it working I needed to set the IP address to DMZ mode.
Also, the CCTV Box connects to the Orbi Router via an `Ethernet Cable (if this helps).
thanks.

Can you use the same method that is used remotely, only to it from within the Orbi LAN?
(The problem is that I do not know how you access the CCTV feed remotely. Web browser? Software package?.)
If, for example, access is by opening a web page, such as http://<public IP address>:90
Then try this http://<local IP of CCTV box>:90
In the US, the vast majority of residential customers get dynamic IP addresses from their Internet Service Provider, which means that the ISP can change the IP address at any time without any warning. The way we deal with the uncertainty is to sign up with a Dynamic DNS service (and pay them) so that a specific domain name will always point to the public IP even if it has changed. When I connect to crimpon.myNetgear.com, that gets converted to my current public IP address. Without using DDNS, then I have to check every time, "Has my public IP address been changed?"

Many thanks for your reply.
I only need the CCTV Box for local viewing in my house, the Local IP address is 192.168.1.149:90 (this is programmed into the CCTV box and is a fixed address)
I test this using an Open Port Checker or running an App called "Super Live Plus"which is a dedicated compatible App for my CCTV box.(Mac OSX and Windows are no longer compatible with my CCTV Box, SuperLive Plus on my iPad/iPhone is the only way to view a live feed)
The Public IP address in the UK is the same as the US, it can change periodically. I also have a DDNS account/address but do not use this at the moment until I get my CCTV box to work locally first.
Maybe the only option I have is to connect a VGA Monitor directly to the CCTV Box?Regards.....

Sorry, I led us off in the wrong direction. Port Forwarding means the router accepting a connection from the internet and forwarding the connection to a port on a local device. Your application does not need or benefit from port forwarding in the router unless the app functions by connecting first to the internet and then back to the local LAN. (Which seems sort of complicated and pointless.)
A search for SuperLive Plus turns up lots of links, including an extension for the Chrome Browser that seems to cover Windows, Mac, and phones:
Maybe it would be helpful to know the model of CCTV system this is.
(which will help find the User Manual.)
Not having any Apple products, I am not familiar with Open Port Checkers for Apple. (sigh)
Just to confirm, you have zero access to the CCTV system right now?

Thanks for your reply.
The CCTV details as follows :-
Manufacturer : Ademco
Model : ADKRH084DA
8 CH H.264 DVR
I can connect a HDMI Monitor/TV to view the Video Feed and Settings, all seems OK.
The IP address and Port settings are correct.
SuperLive Feed is an app only used on iPhones and Tablets. The Open Port Check I use is simply from a Google Search.
Maybe it's time to get a new one ?
