My Orbi mesh work has been working well for years, but like others have reported, it is now frequently losing connection to the router. At least once a day, one or more of the three satellites lo...

It usually resolves itself in a few minutes. When I check the Orbi app, I can see one or more satellites are missing from the network map, or they have an amber colour.
Intermittant issues are the very devil to troubleshoot.
- Do all three satellites connect directly to the router, or are any Daisy Chained through another satellite to reach the router?
- When things are working, the Orbi Attached Devices web page shows all three satellites connected over 5G with a Good connection?
- Are the wired devices that continue to work connected only to the router, or also to some of the satellites?
- Is there a definite pattern for when this happens? (by tiime of day)
- Does this happen to one satellite more often than the others?
- Are you able to determine the 5G WiFi channel being used for the hidden backhaul connection?
There are a number of applications that will display the channels being used by nearby WiFi access points.
I am partial to WiFi Analyzer by Kevin Yuan on Android and WiFi Info View by Nirsoft on Windows.
A hidden network with the same signal strength of the Orbi is probably the Orbi backhaul connection. - Which Region is this Orbi system in?
- Does anything appear in the Orbi log at the time when satellites lose connection?
- Do the satellite debug web pages indicate that the satellites may have rebooted?
Every Orbi unit has a debug web page which can be accessed by IP address, such as:
http://<IP of Orbi unit>/debug.htm
My router is 192.168.1.1 and my two satellites are 192.168.1.5 and 192.168.1.50 (because I did not "plan ahead" and leave IP addresses so that the satellites could be sequential). Yours will be different. One of the items on the debug page is System Uptime.
