Orbi RBR50 router pulsing magenta

Hi Everyone

 

Appreciate your help in advance. I noticed yesterday that the router of the orbi system was pulsing magenta and but the internet was working fine on my phone. When i tried my laptop, internet wasnt working. After research, i saw the following :

 

1. Wan port link could be down;

2. Router unable to get ip address from the modem;

3. Router is unable to connect to the internet. 

 

I use my orbi as an AP. Long story short, i reset to FDS and it was ok. Same problem occured this morning. Can i get some advise on how to address this problem better? Should i have my provider replace my main modem?

    What is this main modem? What else is on the network? Why is the Orbi in AP mode?
