Orbi RBR50

Having issue with Orbi RBR 50 router, Got the router connected and that part is working fine. The issue is that i'm having problems conecting the satelites. got only one of 4 to link up with the router. I have spent hours trying to link the other 3 satelites but have had no luck. I have had them as close as 3ft from the router and as far away as 30 ft but does not make a differences. I tried using the app and wait until it tells me to sync up and have just hit the sync button on the router then the satelite one at a time. even tried all of them at one time. NO LUCK! So asking for help! I do have another Orbi router the SRR60 but really dont want to start over if I can get the satelites connected. Dont know the difference between the two routers if the SRR60 if it is a better router or not.

  • What FW is loaded on the RBR?

Have the RBS been updated as well or not?

One problem that RBS will not sync or connect is the FW on the RBR is updated while the RBS have not been. FW versions need to be the same across the RBR and RBS for them to work right.

the SRR is a Pro Business version of the Orbi home system. FW is different between them. I don't know if the RBS would connect to the SRR. I doubt it.

For any Orbi Pro qusetions or information, please post in the Orbi Pro forum:

What you need to do is factory reset the RBS and RBSY. Wire connect a PC to the 1st satellite. Already have the most current FW version files downloaded on to this PC.

Wire connect 1 PC to the back of the RBS. Factory reset the RBS, wait about 5 minutes. The PC will get a IP address from the satellite. The RBS will be 192.168.1.250. Use this IP address in a web browser to log in to the satellites web page. Log in as admin and password. Use the satellites web page FW update feature to select the FW update file that was unpacked from the .zip file. Then factory reset and then re-sync the satellites to the RBR.
