So Anyone has experience with this firmware to give me a light on how to connect: wifi cameras, smart plugs, printer and many others devices which can be set up only on 2.4GHz?

There have been dozens of posts about this issue.  A device that supports only 2.4G can connect to the Orbi ONLY at 2.4G.  It has no other choice.  It cannot sense 5G radio signals just as it cannot sense sound waves or AM radio waves.  They do not exist for this device.  Most of the "smart things" such as electric plugs, security cameras, etc. that I have tested connect to the Orbi with no problem.

There definitely are some devices where the smartphone setup app was written ineptly.  Instead of connecting to the IoT device and saying, "Here. Look for this SSID and use this password.", the app gets tangled up because the smartphone is connected to the Orbi at 5G.  The solution that has worked for a lot of people is this:

    • Access the Orbi web interface (http://orbilogin.net) using the admin credentials user "admin" and the Orbi router password (not the WiFi password)
    • Navigate to the Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings, Wireless Settings
    • Uncheck the box "Broadcast SSID on 5G Channel"
This will not affect any devices which are currently attached to the Orbi at 5G.
    • On the smartphone settings, "forget" the Orbi WiFi
    • Search for WiFi networks and select the Orbi WiFi
    • Enter the WiF password and connect
    • At this point, open the IoT app and go through the steps
    • After the device is connected, reverse the steps
      Check the box "Broadcast SSID"
      "Forget Orbi WiFi"
      Search for and connect.

If there is a specific device which cannot be connected, please post the brand and model number.
