Orbi rbs10

I think I was misinformed, I just signed up with AT&T fiber and was told to get the Orbi satellites to extend the WiFi. Do I need an Orbi router as well?

  • This depends on exactly what equipment AT&T fiber installed (product number from the case).

In 2024, it would be really unusual for AT&T to recommend this ancient Netgear technology rather than a more modern WiFi system that supports at least WiFi6. (The Orbi "10" product supports only WiFi5.)

AT&T's fiber web site mentions a number of AT&T WiFi products:

Where did this advice come from?

Orbi satellites are designed to work with Orbi routers. The RBS10 usually pairs with an RBR10.

On its own, the RBS10 is not much use.
