orbi router rbr drops internet connection

a couple of months ago my orbi rbr50 lost internet connections. i have contacted my isp and they could remotely connect to my modem and said the connection was fine. so it looks like the problem is my rotuter. seems to happen about every 1 or 2 weeks. annoying when i'm home to fix it but a real problem when i'm traveling because it takes out my security cameras and water leak detectors.

looking at other posts i have turned off DTS - daylight Tome Saving and TM - traffic monitoring. But I'm still having problems. any help would be appreciated.

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Does the RBR five any top ring indication when this happens?

Do you have any RBS deployed? How many?

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

      thanks for the response

firmware is v2.7.4.24 which the router says is current.

i use a small, local isp - zeta broadband. it is a fixed wireless provider. the "modem" , what i connect to the orbi is a poe injector that powers an amplified, high gain antennae where i guess the guts of the modem actually are. it's not easily accessible and probably doesn't have any useful identification.  the LAN cable to the orbi is a short, non removeable cable. the poe has this info on it - mikro tik gigabit poe

not sure this time what the top ring was this time. at other times, i believe the orbi had a pulsating magenta color.

i have 1 rbs in use.

my nearest neighbor (1) is about 250 feet away.  all other neighbors are about 1,000 feet away.

i powered down all computers, the 'modem' and the orbi. i did not power down the satellite. i waited 2 minutes, powered up the 'modem", waited another 2 minutes and powered up the orbi. shortly afterwards my google home display showed i was connected to the internet.

i have not done a factory reset and am very hesitant to do this. i have 19 smart devices and don't want to reconfigure them. i addition, i have reserved the ip address of most of these smart devices to make it easier to identify them sine many have a generic, non-customizable name.

could i do a factory reset and then reload a backup configuration to make this process easier.

I think i've answered all your questions and in doing so, did not find anything on my end that i could do to resolve this issue.

i rebooted the router and then left for a 10 day trip. router lost internet connection in less than a day and i'll have to wait until i get back to diagnose further.

calif is in the middle of heat wave and the ac is off. possibly the router is getting too hot. it's not in direct sun but possibly the room got close to 100. i'll try putting a fan on it. or install the prior firmware version. router i only 2 years old so wouldn't expect it to go bad. but maybe it's just a lemon.
