ORBI Router RBR50 Serial Number4PME7A54087A2
I have this ORBI Router and I am wondering how to install a VPN on this router so that it will work as VPN Router. I saw various contributions about this but logging into the router does not show what is needed. Can anybody explain? Thanks!

Netgear provides OpenVPN host mode as a feature on WiFi routers. This allows clients running OpenVPN client software on the internet to connect to the Orbi LAN.
Netgear does not suppport OpenVPN client mode on their routers, which would allow every device on the LAN to access the internet through a VPN tunnel. There is third party software for many Netgear WiFi routers which does provide VPN client capability. For the RBR50, Voxel has created firmware which supports two different forms of VPN client: OpenVPN and WireGuard. His firmware can be found here:
http://www.voxel-firmware.com/Downloads/Voxel/html/orbi.html There are very specific instructions for installing Voxel's firmware on the RBR50. Of course, Netgear does not support third party firmware.
I, myself, struggle with the concept that every device in my home needs to access the internet through a VPN tunnel. Most web traffic is encrypted by default. Do I care that "Big Brother" knows that my Amazon Echo contacts the Amazon cloud? I would probably sign up for a 5 client license for a VPN and install their VPN software on my computer, tablet, and phone. But.... that's just me.
Sorry. This is probably not what you wanted to hear.
Please do not post serial numbers or MAC addresses in public forums for security reasons.
Thank you.
