Orbi Says My iMac Is Not Connected to The Network, But It Is
I am running a network with RB20 satellite and router. When I try to log into the Orbi Admin page, I get a web page that says I'm not connected to my Orbi Network, but I obviously am. My Mode...

Another update:
So ATT restored the connection.
Then, they manually went in on their end and disabled the WiFi radio signals. So now the ATT modem/router is no longer broadcasting a WiFi signal, effectively making it a modem only.
The rep explained that the user tools are much less sophisticated, which is why they were able to do it on their end.
Thanks so much for your help! It got me close, then calling in to ATT helped finish the job.
By the way, now that I no longer have a Double NAT situation, what kind of improvements can I expect to see?

Just turn OFF the Wifi radios on the modem. IP Pass thru will handle the double NAT issue.

Double NAT interferes with a number potential activities. Google "Double NAT" or check out this link: https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
If you have no desire (or need) to use any of these features, then NAT does not affect you.

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Thanks.
Using the link you proivided, when I click on the orbilogin page, I get a message that I am not connected to my Orbi's WiFi Network, which I clearly am. (See attached.)
This happens when I try to log in at orbilogin.com and orbilogin.net.
Is this a Netgear issue?

Can you access the RBRs web page at 192.168.1.1?
Is this with a wireless or wired connection to the RBR?
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
No. On both Safari and Firefox, I get a "server not responding" message.
The RBR20 is connected by ethernet to the ATT modem, but all devices (including my iMac) are connected via WiFi.
On the Orbi app on my iPhone, I see all devices are connected, and I of course have internet on all of them.
- FURRYe38Oct 08, 2021Guru - Experienced User
Power off the RBR for 1 minute then back ON.
Have a wired PC connected to the RBR in back. AFter the RBR is ready, try connecting to 192.168.1.1.
What is the IP address string you see on the Mac networking? Is it a 192.168 or could it be a 10.something address?

This a typical response when the web address is not correct.
Can you go into the Network settings on your device and discover the
IP address
Subnet Mask (which should be 255.255.255.0
Gateway
DNS Server
The Orbi router should be the gateway, and the IP address of the web interface.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
On my iMac, under Network Settings, TCP/IP, I see a Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0
The MAC address of my iMac is 38:f9:d3:b7:3a:19
Router IPv6 is fe80::7ad2:94ff:fea4:2a8a
IPv4 is 10.0.0.7
Or are you asking something else?
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
I do see Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0
Not sure where to find what else you;re looking for.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
I have 4 DNS servers.
1.1.1.1
1.0.0.1
2606.4700:4700:::1111
2606.4700:4700:::1001
Can't find Gateway.

Thanks. with your IP being 10.0.0.7, then the Orbi web interface will be found at http://10.0.0.1
(Just as an 'aside', the Orbi creating a LAN subnet of 10.0.0.x leads me to believe that your AT&T router is NOT in "passthrough" or "bridge" mode.)
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
OK, I logged in, but I got this message:
To avoid a conflict with your Internet service provider, your Orbi router's IP address was updated to 10.0.0.1.
And when I logged in again I am being promopted to enter the Serial number.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
Yes, that worked.
But orbilogin.net doesn't.
And I had to reset password, etc. on Orbi.

Did you walk thru the setup wizard with the mac and web browser? Something you might want to if you can log back in after a RBR reboot.
Seems like your ISP modem also uses 192.168.1. which is causing the RBR to move to 10.something. I would recommend changing the 10 address you see on the RBRs web page to 192.168.0.1 under Advanced Tab/Settings/LAN setup.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
POrbi updated my iMac IP to 10.0.0.1. Is that OK?
- FURRYe38Oct 08, 2021Guru - Experienced User
No that should be 10.0.0.something else.
Can you disconnect the RBR from the from the modem temporarily.
Reboot the RBR, power it off for 1 minute then back ON.
See if you can log in to the RBRs web page again at 10.0.0.1 web your web browser.
Go in and change the LAN settings for the router IP to 192.168.0.1. Save and apply the setting. The RBR should tell you that IPs are changing and the RBR will reboot. After it reboots, check the IP address on the mac, it should be a 192.168.0.something address. - mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
I should change the Orbi IP address to 192.168.1.1 under LAN?
- FURRYe38Oct 08, 2021Guru - Experienced User
No, Go in and change the LAN settings for the router IP to 192.168.0.1.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
OK. Will try that soon.
Should I first doisconnect the Orbi and reboot, or change the IP addrtess?
- FURRYe38Oct 08, 2021Guru - Experienced User
Disconnect the RBR from the modem, change the IP address to 192.168.0.1 then apply and reboot. AFter that, check your Mac for 192. address, if good connect the RBR back to the modem.
Also use the DMZ or IP passthru feature on the modem for the RBRs IP address its give from the modem to the RBRs WAN port. Look at the modems connected clients page to see what IP address appears for the RBRs WAN port. Input this IP address into the DMZ or IP Pass thru on the modems web page.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
If I disconnect RBR from modem I won't have internet connection.
My iMac's IP is xxx.07, so no conflict. The router is showing as 10.0.0.1
I'm reluctant to go back into ATT modem settings since that's what bricked me yesterday/.
Maybe I'll call up ATT and have them do it.
Current;y, I am in Passthrough mode, at least according to the settings I see on ATT Gateway page. And what the reps confiremed tyesterday.
- mapalm418Oct 08, 2021Aspirant
If I use the set-up wizard, will that re-set the Orbi and I'll have to re-create my network name, password, etc.?
- FURRYe38Oct 08, 2021Guru - Experienced User
Thats fine, you'll get internet services back after you make the change on the RBR to 192.168.0.1 then reconnect the modem afterwards.
Your not making any changes on the modem aside addin the IP address given to the RBR from the modem into the modems DMZ. If you need help on this, ask the ISP for help on this. They will know.
