Orbi set up with DSL Model

Hi,

I have just replaced my old Apple Airprt wth a new Orbi -

I use a Netgear DM200 model to connect to the broadband.

I have given the Dm200 a static IP aaddress  and use the Orbi to manage the DHCP network with the hose.

Can someone give me an example of how I should be setting this up as I dont seem to see the example in the manual.

the ip address si set the modem up is 192.168.1.1

I have pointed the internet port of the Orbi at 192.168.1.2

not sure if this is correct.

Any advice or guidance would be grateful recieved.

Thanks

Frank

This is important. By default the DM200 arrives with the router bit switched on.

Don't mess around with IP addresses and DHCP.  The easiest thing to do is to put the DM200 into modem only mode. The Quick Start guide is all you need to read.

Then just use the Orbi as designed, in router mode.

Before you get too far, ensure that you update the firmware for the DM200. It is a bit fiddly to get into the thing when it is in modem mode.
