Orbi to guest house

Question

We have a 2200 sq ft. home, single story, basic rectangle. Current Internet/wifi is cable modem/router from Grande communications. We are considering a mesh wifi set up. Our issue is that we have an 1100 sq ft., 2 story guest house approximately 150 ft. from our main house. Burying ethernet cable is not an option as we are pretty much on solid limestone. Is there an Orbi solution that will work for us?&nbsp;

What you need is a wireless point-to-point link between the houses. &nbsp;Such a device has &nbsp;directional antennas and is desingned to maintan a stable connection between two points &nbsp;Orbi isn't desinged to do this. &nbsp;That said, you might get some&nbsp;signal in the guest house, but I wouldn't expect very good results.

The outdoor satellite might increase the signal at the other house by a small amount. &nbsp;However, it's still not designed to do what you want. &nbsp;A single RBS50Y would also cost more than 2X the price of a pair of wirless point-to-point links.

The closer you can place an AP to your guest house (GH), the better your signal in the GH will be. The problem is, it may still not be good enough. An outdoor AP may help, but it woul depend on the distance from the AP to the GH, the GH material, where in the GH you want to use devices, what type of devices they are, etc. It's also possible you could put the router in the main house (MH) and a satellite in the GH, and that that would work. If you enable daisy chaining, it should be possible to have the router in the MH, an outdoor satellite between the houses, and then an indoor satellite in the GH (and this would only be necesary it you either can't get good enough coverage by having both in the MH, or can't get a strong enough backhaul connection by putting the router in the MH and satellite in the GH).

And, while you said you can't bury a cable, you might be able to just run one on top of the ground, or even suspend it (neither would be ideal, and may occasionally require replacement). Or run it through conduit, even if the conduit isn't buried, to protect the cable from the elements and fauna.

I had recently bought a new Toshiba laptop I have also had the same issue, as I wanted to transfer the licence of my code warrior IDE to my new laptop but I do not know how I can perform this should I first create an environment for this IDE in my new laptop?
