Orbi wired backhaul configuration issue
I just got an Orbi RBK53 "kit" (includes one RBR50 router and two RBS50 satellites) and wanted to relate some of my experience to the community. My home configuration is Xfinity cable > Netgear CM115...

I'm trying to configure the system and I'm having the same problem.
While it initially worked out fine out of the box, after upgrading to the latest firmware it created issues with the WiFi dropping frequently. As I'm still on the free 90 days tech support, I was guided to change a few values on the router. That solved the intermittency, but then the satellites were acting funny.
My topography is similar to yours, with the ISP modem in the basement. I have a wire going up to the main floor, were the router is, and another going back to a switch in the basement, were I then connect to the first satellite (basement) and the second one (second floor).
So the system and app showed it was using 5G to link the router and the 2 floor satellite, and a wired connection from that satellite to the one on the basement.
After a long troubleshooting session with tech support, a ticket was sent to the software team to look in to the issue for the "next possible" firmware update.
In the meantime I was offered two options: or keep using the satellites wireless (as they work fine this way) or reverting to the previous firmware, with the caveat that the WiFi may become intermittent again. Needless to say, I kept the latest firmware.

What is the Mfr and model# if the switch you have connected? Managed switches or switches with Green Ethernet features are problematic for Orbi systems.

This switch has green ethernet:

Not very compatible with Orbi.
Try a different switch. NG GS 105/108 older version with out green ethernet. Or D-Links DGS105/108 series works. So does HP Pro Curve 1400/1800 series non managed switches.
