Orbi with nighthawk
can a nighthawk router be plugged into in an orbi to provide additional LAN ports? I'd like to have multiple device plugged into router, potentially more that number of ports on the Orbi.

Yes you can run an Ethernet cable between the Nighthawk and Orbi router. You should put one of the two in AP (Access Point) mode to avoid double NAT.
If you don't already have the Nighthawk router you may wish to consider getting a gigabit switch.
