What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Unplugging it and rebooting, following the suggestions of the app, and everything else I've read. Costco won't take it back because it's a year old. Can someone please explain (in plain english...I'm old!) how to reconnect it? The LED ring stays a constant magenta. It says it's a model RBR40. Thank you!

I have no idea how to answer all of that. I can tell you everything was working perfectly before the power went out (we were struck by lightening but have a whole house surge protector and every other piece of electronics and appliance is working fine). Now, I just can't get it to reestablish a connection. I tried to download a software update, but it doesn't seem to work. I don't have any idea how to find the other information mentioned.

You might have someone help you with that information.
Try a factory rest on the RBR and RBS and setup from scratch. IF this fails to connect the RBS, then the RBS could be damaged.
