Orbi with Verizon Fios
Hello all, This is my first post since owning my Orbi system. I have a question I have Verizon Fios with internet tv and phone and I am currently using my Fios router G1100 as the primary router and...
I did not try yet. I am still looking into the benefit of making Orbi primary router rather than just an ap.
I’ll probably have a chance to try again Friday. Reading around, Fios might be configured for the MAC Address of the G1100 to have the IP assigned to it so I might have to “change” the MAC on the Orbi so it fools Fios into thinking it it the G1100.
As for the reasons to do it, I would like to pause individual devices, check out Circle and the other security features.

- Yes, like some of the security features as well on the Orbi. I was also thinking if I can’t get it to work probably with the Fios TV the dvr management on the mobile application and caller ID on the TV screen. I was thinking of getting a hardware firewall with UTM for the extra security features and virus/malware protection.
- I tried again with no luck. I think I’m sticking with AP mode.
Did you give the DMZ option a try on the FIOS router with the RBR?

Could have just been the old router though. Maybe I’ll try it out with the Orbi.
