Orbi/RBK50 Security Camera problems
I purchased an Orbi RBK50 about 2 months ago, and have been very pleased with the speed and connectivity. All of my devices have been very happy with the new router, and all of my blind spots have disappeared. I now even have wireless connectivity in my storage shed in the back yard! I have been having intermittent problems with a Security Camera from Frontpoint Security, though, which the vendor is trying to place on the new router.
When I connected the camera (it's 3 years old) to the Orbi - initially via Cat 5 cable - I had a hard time establishing a connection. Additionally, when I was able to establish a connection, I saw something with the Camera that I have not seem with any other device - it presented me with 4 options for the connection - both high and low speed connections from both the main device, and also the Satelite. We did establish a connection (I am told the camera requires a 2.4 signal), and we disconnected the Cat 5 cable, and we were in business.
The camera works, and can be monitored, and records video clips when the system is armed, but when it is disarmed, it sometimes starts taking videi clips on its own - essentially turning itself on when it should be off.
Has anyone else seen this sort of behavior? Is my description clear enough, or is more info needed?
Thanks in advance,
Jerry
