Just received new Modem and Router issued by Spectrum, raising speed from 400 mbps to 500 mbps. Will my existing Orbi RBR40 work with the modem, or will we have to scrap our Netgear plus five satell...
It'll still work fine. The RBK40 system is pretty rock solid and it shouldn't make much difference going from 400 to 500mbps. Its not usually the router that is the bottleneck in the system but the device you're testing with.
And even if they don't max it out, still not a big deal as most devices don't even need that much speed. For example, streaming 4k only takes 25-40mbps.
The key will be what modem are you connecting it to.
