OrbiRBR53 wired ethernet half speed
Hello all,
I have an RBR53 (RBR50 with 2 satellites), along with Verizon Fios with a gigabit connection, but the RBR50's speed test using the mobile app shows download speeds of about 500 mbs. The RBR50 is connected by ethernet to one of the LAN ports of the Fios gateway modem (model G1100).
However, my PC (which is connected by ethernet cable to the RBR50) can achieve speeds around 900 mbs using fast.com and speedtest.net. My PC can also achieve 900 mbs when connected by ethernet cable to the gateway.
Why is it that the RBR50 can only achieve speeds of 500 mbs when it is wired to the gateway, but my computer can achieve 900 mbs when it is wired to the RBR50?
Is this speed cap of 500 mbs limiting the speed of my wifi devices? My wifi devices can achieve about 350 mbs when they are close to the RBR50 or its satellites.
Any help is appreciated.

Your FIOs already has a router built in. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop- MrJigglesAspirant
Thanks for the reply!
I have Fios TV so I leave the coax cable connected to the router. I believe this is the only way to continue using FiOS TV.
I should also mention that before my initial post, I had already went into the settings of the G1100 and disabled the Wifi, and set the RBR50 to AP mode.
Just now I switched the ethernet cable from the WAN port of the G1100 directly to the RBR50 yellow internet port, and switched the RBR50 to router mode, but I still get about 500 Mbps when using the speedtest.
Is there another issue going on that keeps my speed in half?
Of course 500 Mbps is still fast enough for anything that I need, but I don't like the feeling that I'm losing half of my potential speed to some unknown reason.
Also, the firmware of the RBR50 is 2.3.5.30 so I believe it's the latest version.

You should have good speeds in AP mode at least behind the FIOS modem. You can try loading v16 on the RBR and RBS and see if the RBR will get any better speeds. I presume the FIOS maybe not playing well with the RBR. The RBR50 can handle near 900Mpbs.
