Port forwarding not working after enabling VLAN taggin

I have just changed my internet provider and in order to avoid using their broadband router in bridge mode, I need to enable VLAN tagging and have done so like shown in the attached picture.

This works as intended, but unfortunately port forwarding is not working anymore and I cannot access e.g. my NAS on port 5000.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  • Problem solved! It was caused by my IP address not being set to public by my ISP.

I am confused about "avoid".  Where is the ISP router?  (i.e. is it still installed in router mode, or is it not being used at all?)

My guess is that there is a logical inconsistency between port forwarding, which uses the routers NAT function and VLAN Bridge.  The Orbi user manual says that packets with the VLAN tags do not go through the Orbi NAT process. i.e. they are "bridged" around it.

Do all of the Orbi LAN ports have to be in this VLAN group?  I would attempt to have the NAS on a port that is NOT part of the group.
