Purple ring on satellite when adding a net work cable
Hi all, been looking around and could not see anything, so apologies if this is answered. Prior to firmware update V2.7.2.104 which I got given last week, my entire setup worked fine with the ro...

Hi Marc
Let me be the first to say, when I read this..."Prior to firmware update V2.7.2.104 which I got given last week, my entire setup worked fine with the router in AP mode (connected to broadband router in yellow port) and the satellites connected individually through the house. One of the satellites had all 4 ethernet ports in use and no issues ever occured."
There are several posts in here about the problems with firmware updates. Several folks in here will respond to your question here by asking you a dozen questions and having you jump through a 100 hoops. My recommendation is that as much as a pain as it might appear, your best option may be to revert the firmware.
Of course the choice is yours and if you feel like you got a day to devote to troubleshooting, go for it. Understanding that even after all of that your system may still not work correctly.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
Thought I had managed to solve it whenI noticed the guest network was broadcasting but no luck. Looks like I might have to revert to old firmware today and see how it goes

Thanks
If you do revert, perhaps you can share your expereince. I imagine there are lots of folks in the same boat with firmware issues.

So here is an update.
Decided to not revert and try a few things. did a complete factory reset and rebuilt everything step by step, adding 1 satellite at a time with nothing connected. Added all Lan cables back and everything seemed to work.
I then let everything settle for a bit just in case and had no issue at all. This was all with router mode. Switched to AP mode as that is what I had before and the issue re-appeared. Not sure why that happened, but switched it back to router mode and it is stable.
This works for me for now albeit not ideal. I might leave it a few days and turn AP mode back just to see what happens

Nice work....only 2 questions on my part.....what firmware did you end up with and why the AP mode? Maybe I missed something.
