Ranger Extender for Orbi RBK53 Triband Wifi

Hello,

I have an Orbi RBK50 + 2 Satellites at home; I am considering to extend that with a range extender to have my outdoor camera's better attached to the wifi network. I do know that there is the RBS50Y(v2) around, but are there cheaper (Netgear)solutions available?

Regards, Jan

The are compatible satellites but not rated for outdoors.

    devices compatible:

    RBS20

    RBW30

    RBS40

    RBS40V (voice)

    RBS50

    RBS50Y (outdoor)

you can also use the EX7500, EX7700, EX8000 extenders.

plemanshas identified the Netgear products that will extend the Orbi "mesh". I am partial to the RBS40V because Amazon sells it for $99 to promote Amazon Alexa. (You can decide not to activate Alexa).  A satellite does not have to be "outdoors" to provide expanded coverage (unless that camera is far away from the building).  This has the benefit of expanding the mesh for other devices that may roam in that direction.

If the one camera is the only concern, then a simple WiFi extender from any company will work as well, especially if the camera is a 2.4G only model (as so many of them are). One device that is screwed to the wall is not going to roam.  Thus, having a "mesh" does nothing useful for that device.

Thanks for your replies; much appreciated; so what do you recommend in this case for outdoor use? (attachted to indoor RBK50 and 2 satellites)?
