RBK50 blocking sites
HI i have an RBK50 which seems to be blocking explicite URL sites, in particular my companies mailbox server.. I have disconnected the Orbi from my ISP CPE and connected directely through the ISP CPE...
HI I havent tried that but was under the impression i would loose my seamless roaming as we use the orbi to provide mobile coverage over wifi ..
Was hopibg there was an explination as to why this just happened,,
having the orbi in access point mode doesn't disable seamless roaming. It'd still work fine. It just doesn't integrate with the ISP cpe router's wireless.
It could be a dns issue. Have you tried using googles at 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 or cloudfare at 1.1.1.1
It uses the ISP's DNS but could change the DNS In the orbi, the other reason i switched off the CPE was the interference i was getting on the 2.4ghz, which is what i use mosty as i have a lot of solid masonary in the house.. i ll try the DNS ...
You can always run the cpe in router mode with wireless disabled and use the orbi as the access point. I do this regularly with my orbi when I'm trying new routers or modem/router combo devices.
THats a good point. I cant remember why i ended up cofiguring it this way, it had something to do with the ring door bell system.. but i guess i will try your suggestion and see what happens,
