If you disconnect the RBR from the modem then press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release and wire connect 1 PC to the back of the RBR and if you can't access the RBRs setup wizard at 192.168.1.1, then I would presume the RBR if bad.

Thanks for the response. This is really unfortunate. The fact that the unit seems to accept firmware uploads gives me hope that somehow the unit can be resurrected. I used to be a firmware devleoper so flashing hardware is nothing new to me. If I had more access to the unit I feel like somehow this could be fixed. It feels bad to throw away hardware.

I hear you. Feel bad as well. Only thing you can try is to see if NG has a RMA option available to you.
