RBK50: Ethernet Backhaul + Multi Gig
Hi there, I'm in trouble with my new network setup which include a Multigig ISP router (10Gbit GPON) and Orbi RBK50 (1 Router in AP Mode and 2 Sats). My goals are: Keep a multi gig link from ISP ...
If your connecting your 2.5Gb PC to the nr2 switch then this will work to maintain the 2.5Gb speed from the host router to the PC.
You can connect the RBR to nr2 here as well, then connect the RBS if you want it ethernet connected to the back of the RBR or use the D-Link switch in between the RBR and RBS for this segment of the chain.
You could connect the RBR to nr1 switch then behind the RBR, directly connect the RBS or connect the DLink switch behind the RBR then connect the RBS to the DLink switch in this segment.

There is something I'm missing here. The only real difference I can see from my old config and new is that Orbi Router is connected to ISP router and not direct to the Switch. Following your suggestion if I put another Zyxel MG105 I can do the magic?
Something like that:
ISP Router ---> MG105 nr1* ---> MG105 nr2** --->DGS-1100***
*Zyxel 2,5Gig unmanaged: Orbi Router (AP mode) connected
**Zyxel 2,5Gig unmanaged: Orbi Sat1
***Dlink Managed: Orbi Sat2 connected (it works before with Ethernet Backhaul, I can bypass if needed or replace)
What do you think? It could be ok?

No I'm happy with 1G wired backhaul.
Goals are:
- Keep a 2.5G wired connection from ISP to my Workstation
- Keep a 1G wired backhaul for my RBK50 Orbi System
- Invest less money possible to achieve both of them at same time
The Orbi will remain a 1 GbE device even in AP mode. There is no magic to plug a 2.5G network in some fancy random connection sequence or the like. It does not matter of the aggregated wireless backhaul is involved.

But it's ok (for now) 1GB wired backhaul... if I can obtain this I'm going to be happy!
I love the ultra low wifi ping that wired backhaul guarantee and 600Mbit\600Mbit on a mobile device is far enough for my actual needs.
Goal! It works!

"ultra low wifi ping that wired backhaul guarantee" What tree are you smoking from? How shall we understand "600Mbit\600Mbit on a mobile device" in comparison of talking on a direct wired symmetrical Gigabit Ethernet? Experimenting on LSD?
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

My iPhone 14 Pro with my old ISP (1000\300) and Orbi wired backhaul reach 450\500 Mbit download and 280 Mbit Upload with average ping of 20ms
My iPhone 14 Pro with my new ISP (10000\2000) and Orbi WIRELESS backhaul reach (more than) 600 Mbit download and (more than) 600 Mbit Upload with average ping of 250ms
For the third time I'm saying A and you answer B. i talk about WiFi ping (with or without wired backhaul) you answer with wired symmetrical ethernet. I ask how to get a 2,5Gbit link PLUS ethernet backhaul (never said 2,5Gbit backhaul) and you answer about magic, cable cat.8. I said I'm happy with 1Gbit backhaul (which gives posted results in mobile devices) and you answer that I'm using LSD... so when I was a mod in a board like this your way of talking with users was called flaming and not tolerated.

Already done, thanks for the advice.
I want to share another point: After linking Orbi Router - Switch Nr1 - and Switch Nr2 I can revert back to the first config posted removing Switch Nr1 and Orbi keep it's wired backhaul.
Maybe it's because Switch Nr2 acquired Orbi Router Mac address and updated its table?
Yes and it should persist thru the power cycle as well. Just moved from two switches to one is all. As long as your 2.5Gb is connected to same switch, it should still get 2.5Gb rates as well.
I can confirm: It persist even after power cycle
