RBK50 extender/satelite

I the RBK50 in an 8000 sq. ft home. I have 4 satelittes (customer service says only use 3)

that work well but I still have dead zones. Walls and brickwork are custom, so I suspect that is at least a part of my problem.

Here is my question: do I try yet again another satelitte or do I try an extender? If an extender, should it be a Netgear that is compatible with Orbi, i.e. only some Orbi extender? If so, which one?

Brickwork is horrible for wifi. sorry but you're going to struggle because of that a bit. I'd try moving the satellites around a bit to see if you can get overlapping area's to help with dead spots.

I wouldn't recommend going with an extender. They're cheaper but they don't mesh as well with orbi and it tends to cause more issues than they fix.

Are your satellites hardwired in? Anytime brick interiors is involved, this is the ideal usage.

And in terms of customer service saying only 3 can be used, i've read of others on here having 6-7 satellites.

  • I would keep with a RBS50 series satellite to maintain compatiblity and stability. Seen others with 6 RBSs online.
