Without changing anything, this situation resolved itself the next day and has been fine ever since.. I believe the ISP must have changed something...

Unfortunately nothing to learn here :/
(also tried checking and unchecking the Traffic Meter, to no avail)
(also tried switching to AP mode, no difference)
