The current firmware for RBR50 is 2.3.5.30. Connect a web browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.) to the Orbi, which may be "orbilogin.com". (I prefer to use the actual IP address which in my case is 192.168.1.1), enter "admin" for the user ID and the admin password for the Orbi (which is, of course, different from the WiFi passwordl) The web Home Page will display the router version in the upper right. If it is 2.3.5.30, then the RBR50 firmware is current. If it is not, then navigate to the Advanced Tab->Administration->Firmware Update.
Questions about the Orbi IOS app are probably better addressed to the actual "Orbi App" user forum. My experience is that most of us on this forum use the web interface most of the time.
Good Luck

Thanks for the comment about the app. When I manually updated I followed the same procedure that you described. I got the message that so many users have gotten. Wrong firmware could not update. I’m still not sure that my app is displaying the correct version number. Interesting the version is not displayed on netgears web site. I will try the app forum.
Thanks again for the help

What version does the Orbi web interface say your Orbi has?
Using the web interface, not the app, have you clicked on the Advanced Tab->Administration->Firmware Update? On the "Automatic[" tab. does it say that newer firmware is available?

The router indicates the same as the IOS App 2.3.1.60. I tried to update manually making sure that I had the correct file with the .img extension. I got the usual incorrect file response. I also used the link from another user which took me to the same web page I had used. Same result.
Thanks for the help.
