RBR20 Issues Connecting and previously only able to log into device remotely

My Setup

  • RBR20 w/ 2 satellites
  • Airport Time Capsule connected via ethernet and WiFi on
  • Connecting 2 Apple TVs, 4 iPads, 2 iPhones, 2 Ring cameras
  • I've owned this Orbi RBR20 since May 2019

Scenario

Ever since I purchased, I've not been able to log into my Orbi device cleanly... I constantly received messages there were issues connecting and I logged in 'remotely.'  However, recently I was having connectivity issues and inherently decided to reset the device and in that process believe I discovered the root of my problem.

 

Solution

  1. Delete the App from my iPhone (which is how I was connecting)
  2. On my iPhone forget the 'ORBI45' WiFi connection
  3. Download Obri app again and reconnect

I also unplugged power to my AirPort Capsule during the reboot process just to avoid that causing any interferrence. After I was able to confirm logging into the Obri app a few times without issue, I plugged back in the AirPort Time Capsule.

    Turn OFF the Wifi radio on the Apple Time Capsule. It's not needed since you have wifi on Orbi running.
