RBR20 issues, upgrade to switch
I have an RBR20 with two outdoor satellites. The 20 and one satellite are in the main house and the other satellite is on another house. We just got fiber, 300mbs, to the main house, up from dsl 12mb...
Your problem isn't the orbi but the 500ft separating them. Orbi isn't designed for spanning that distance. regardless if you use wifi 5/6/7. You might get a connection but its not going to have any throughput that works decent.
You'd be better off to connect the 2 buildings with a point to point system. Netgear has Airbridge but its been in/out of stock for a while. Might be worth checking into a different system.
I would connect the 2 homes that route.
