RBR20 roaming configuration

I have an RBR mesh system with 2 satellites and started to notice that My phone and TV were losing connection, even though I have a satellite withini 50 feet.  I finally opened the app and found that most all of my devices were connected to my main router and not the satellites.  I have been searching on how this should be set up correctly, but have not found the magic solution so here is my query.  I am on RBR20, firmware 2.3.5.30, have the main wired unit in my closet where the connection comes in, a second unit upstairs about 100 feet away and a third unit about 5 feet away in my dining room.  I have an attached porch next to my dining room where I see connection issues and also in my second floor main bedroom. Both of there areas are less than 30 feet from the satelites.  Please point me in the right direction to configure correctly?

A satellite 100ft away from the router?

On the Orbi web interface, Attached Devices page, what does it show for the status of the satellite?

Can you telnet into the router and type this command:

    satellite_info wifi

When the satellite powers up, what does the "ring light" at the top display (for about 2 minutes before it goes out)?

The Orbi design is based on Orbi devices being "close enough" to have a strong signal, which in practice works out to between 25 and 50 feet.  (in my opinion) 100ft. is WAY too far.

And, satellites should not be placed 5 ft. apart.  That is far too close.
