p.s. The original Orbi product line, which includes the RBR20, has a workaround for this problem. (newer models do not)
The process works like this:
- Go into the Orbi web administration (http://orbilogin.net)
- Navigate to the Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings (bottom menu item)
- Select Advanced Wireless Settings
- On the screen, uncheck the box for "Broadcast SSID" on the 5G network
- Click Apply.
- On the smartphone that is running the camera app.
- Go into the network settings
- "Forget" the Orbi WiFi.
- After that is done, select the Orbi WiFi name and connect.
(which will require you to enter the network password, since the phone no longer remembers it) - This will cause the phone to connect at 2.4G because that is the only network that is broadcasting the SSID
- Open the smartphone app and connect the camera.
- After this process finishes, reverse the procedure
- Tell the Orbi to begin broadcasting SSID on the 5G network
- "Forget" and then connect to the Orbi again.

Is there a way to do it through the Orbi app? I have an android device if that matters

Alas, no. The app does not manage ANY of the advanced options.
You can use a tablet connected over WiFi. (smartphone screen is not large enough to use the web interface comfortably).
