RBR40 Add Satellite

I currently have an Orbi AC2200 Tri-band Mesh System (RBR40) that includes a router and 2 satellites when I purchased it as a package from Best Buy a few years back. I am needing to extend coverage to front of us because we bought a Ring Spotlight Camera and the coverage in that area is only at 50%. So my question is, can I purchase another satellite to add onto this system and if so what type or model number will hook up to the existing system? I don't think they make my model anymore?

Any of the original "residential" Orbi satellites will connect to the RB40 router. (RBS50, RBS40,RBS20, RBW30, and RBS40V.

They are incredibly difficult to find, even harder now that the newer "AX" and WiFi 6E products are on the market.

My personal "Best Buy" right now is the RBS40V which Amazon has been selling for $100, possibly to push the "Alexa voice" capability (which does not have to be activated).  I have one and it works great.

  • Also EX7500, EX7700 and EX8000 also work as alternative extenders with Orbi.
