RBR40 firmware update to 2.7.5.6 legit?
Greetings all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I still run my old Orbi AC2200 Tri-band WiFi Router (RBR40) as a guest network, and noted that, even though it has been end of service for a wh...

If it's being seen in the RBRs UI or Orbi app then yes it's valid and legit. Was mentioned in another post that it's legit. NG seems to take there time on getting files posted and can push via Auto Update first which has happened in the past. Then they will post the FW files later on. Up to you if you update. Be sure to allow the RBS to be updated as well if you do. Those should update first. I recommend bringing any RBS closer or to same room as RBR to ensure they get updated properly.
Or hold off until files show up.

Thanks! I'll probably await the official post (though I wonder if it will come since the product is technically End of Service).

RBR20 self updated to v2.7.5.6, satellites are stuck at 2.7.4.24.
Website does not show v.2.7.5.6 for either the router or the satellites.
Even though the satellites can be seen by the router and seem to be operating, they are no longer visible in the app. If I log into the router directly via my network from a browser, the router tells me there's a firmware update available for the satellite, but surfing to that link does not give me any way to apply that update or download the firmware.
Apparently, the auto update that got 2.7.5.6 on my router has in some way caused an incompatibility with the satellites - at least as far as the app is concerned.
It's one thing to EOL a product, it's a whole other thing to bork someone's working network installation and then not fix it.
To top it off, I cannot find any record ANYWHERE for the v2.7.5.6 firmware that is ON MY ROUTER, which makes me wonder about it's legitimacy.
I have no idea how, after the absolutely abysmal support we've received over the life of these products, why on earth anyone would ever consider buying another Netgear product - or trust their network to them.
