RBR40 router into a permanent boot loop, where the top LED will glow white
I have an RBR40 Router, with two satellites, RBS40. My system has always worked fine, and always accepted firmware updates with no issue. Until 5/30, when the system tried to update my router and sa...

I've had the same thing happen to me. Woke up this morning and the internet wouldn't work. Tried to go to the web browser UI (my device uses 10.0.0.1) and couldn't even get the login prompt to appear. After finding some instructions to do the cold reboot and waited quite awhile it finally started working again. I thought maybe there was a problem with my current firmware so I went and did the auto upgrade and the same thing happened again.
Tried to install the update using auto again not realizing it was the upgrade that was the problem, had the same thing happen and had to go through the same long process again. Tried installing the update manually thinking maybe it was an issue with the auto install and it happened a third time. Did the soft reset (or whatever you call it) again and I'm finally back to V2.7.3.22 and I don't want to touch V2.7.4.24 with a 10 foot pole.
How is this still an issue 5 and a half months later? I suppose after I did the manual install I didn't wait for it to fully load and then do the shutdown for 1 minute, but I'm very wary to attempt it again since I don't want to potentially have to wait a long time to get it to revert back to 2.7.3.22 if it doesn't work yet again (never tried reverting using tftp, so I'd have to research that). So, I would again call for a working version of 2.7.4.24 since it's ridiculous that this is still a problem almost 6 months later.
Using RBR40, V2.7.3.22 => V2.7.4.24 on Windows 10 machine

As an additional update, I tried the Manual Update through the Web Interface, let the Orbi get fully loaded, turned it off for more than 5 minutes and still had the same issue. Had to reset and it eventually reverted to the previous FW version. So this is definitely still an existing problem if anyone from Netgear is paying attention.

Hello Armage17 ,
Thank you for your post!
I understand that you are not able to install the current firmware 2.7.4.24 on your RBR40. Please ensure that you update the connected Orbi satellites before you update your RBR40. Using TFTP to update to manually update your RBR40 is not necessary when updating to newer firmware.
Please navigate to the link below and let me know if you followed these update instructions directly:
I also included the current update firmware 2.7.4.24 for your RBR40 and RBR40S below:
https://kb.netgear.com/000064873/RBR40-RBS40-Firmware-Version-2-7-4-24
Please ensure to use to correct firmware when updating your Orbi Mesh System.
Please keep me updated on the progress of this issue!
Best,
Kevin
